GoWish users love the platform for its efficiency and practicality in helping improve the gift giving process, and for its ability to minimise unwanted gifts and unnecessary gift wastage \u2013 with some estimates suggesting over \u00a31.2bn of unwanted Christmas gifts will be thrown away in January in the UK alone.<\/p>\n<p>Social shopping is one of the fastest-growing retail markets worldwide, which is expected to be worth $1tn per year by 2028, and as the market leader and category owner in Denmark GoWish is poised to capitalise on the trend. Capital D\u2019s investment will help GoWish achieve its ambitious growth plans, led by an experienced management team and supported by the company\u2019s existing investors, who have reinvested in this next chapter of the GoWish journey.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s an investment that\u2019s fully aligned with our thesis of backing disruptive companies at the intersection of today\u2019s key cross-sector trends \u2013 technological developments, shifts in consumer behaviour and megatrends.
