Laurent Nordin

Portfolio Partner

Laurent is our portfolio partner and oversees value creation in our investee companies. As such he works closely with the founders and management teams, from the design of our joint Value Creation Plans to our exits. Laurent is also our ESG leader and keeps raising the bar for the adoption and implementation of best sustainability practices both at Capital D and in our portfolio companies.

Laurent co-founded Capital D after 22 years with McKinsey&Company where he was a senior partner for his last ten years. He started with the Paris office in 1995, became a Partner in 2001 and moved to Dubai where he co-led and grew the Middle-East office.

A serial entrepreneur, he started and led successively multiple sectorial and functional practices including Private Equity/ Principal Investing and Family-Owned Businesses. Throughout his career with McKinsey, he shaped and led multi-year transformations of several leading companies in Europe and the Middle-East. He was member of several global Firm Committees, including ‘Partners’ Evaluation’ and ‘Client Impact and Experience’, and created the GCC Board Directors Institute.

Laurent has been a board member of several start-ups and growth ventures for more than 15 years and as our portfolio partner, he was on the boards of Invincible Brands and Qmee, and currently serves on VONQ and Phrasee.

Prior to joining McKinsey, Laurent was a turnkey project manager at Alcatel-Alsthom in France, Greece and Cyprus. He is an electrical engineer from French Grande Ecole Centrale-Supelec and holds an M.B.A. from INSEAD. Laurent is married with five children.
