Stephan Lobmeyr

Stephan is co-founder and investment partner and splits his time between running Capital D, speaking to investors and leading our coverage of investment opportunities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Stephan enjoys supporting companies to realise business models of the future and to build a conviction based investment approach of Capital D.

Prior to Capital D, Stephan was one of two deal partners for 12 years at Change Capital Partners, where he invested successfully in mid market consumer good and retail companies across Europe. Previously he served as a director of Hicks, Muse, Tate & First, where he was part of the team that established the first European operations and invested its €1.5bn fund. Whilst at Hicks Muse he led a number of IPOs, financings, mergers and acquisitions.

Prior to this, Stephan spent six years as a strategy consultant for The Boston Consulting Group including a role as manager in the Paris and Buenos Aires offices. His earlier career also includes co-founding two start-ups.

He earned an M.B.A. from IESE, Barcelona and undergraduate commerce degree from Wirtschaftsuniversitaet, Vienna.

Outside work he enjoys all types of water sports and looking after his family with four children.
